The small classes guarantee a great deal of individual attention from highly experienced instructors. This challenging, total body, killer workout will work your muscles to shaking fatigue. The workout is done to stimulating music, and the challenging moves incorporate core strengthening and body shaping, while focusing on flexibility with highly effective results for sports conditioning, injury prevention, balance, coordination, and muscle and bone strengthening. The blend of exercise disciplines are proven to produce a perfectly toned body and offer an ongoing challenge that continues to produce results. As a participant in a BarreTriBeCa barre class you direct your focus inward using your own body weight for resistance, with a concentration on posture, alignment, and core strengthening. Some hand-held weights and other props are used along with a wall-mounted bar for balancing and stretching. The hour of intense focus and expended energy is culminated with a final relaxation segment.

She begins her classes with warm up exercises, mat work, planks, push ups and vinyasa motions where she asks you to consider setting an intention. There are weights and upper body sequences which intentionally do not pause to as to gain maximum benefit. She moves us to the barre where we are engaged in intense and wonderful barre practice including precision and movement. Her adjustments define where we are, how we position our bodies and how we move in a repetitive and concise action. This is barre, no denying it. We return to the mat, and if you're lucky you'll have a day where she returns us a second time to work UNDER the barre, utilizing your inner core to go places where you rarely have the opportunity to go with your body...she'll ask you to reconsider and visit the intention you set earlier in class during warm up. She ends with shavasana, assuring you that this may be the most challenging segment of your work out. To be silent in mind and body. She finishes with an encouraging namaste which will most certainly make a major impression on you.

Her warm up sequence is traditional barre warm up. She engages planks and pushups and upper body weight series which pushes and proceeds through the burn. Her push-plank series pause occassionally with downward facing dog. She moves to the barre with stretching and segways into small movements and burn. She may engage an ab series at the barre with straps. Her return to the mat may include an intense clam series with theraband which engages the upper and outer thigh with burn, or back dancing all of which make you remember why you love coming to barre class. She keeps us moving and encourages all who take her class to go to levels of self-challenge which require focus, strength. Her calls of encouragement "You got this!" help. Because, we know she's right. We do "got this".

Ebony's class is an innovative technique which fuses barre segments with a fitness workout. Things you wouldn't see in a "barre" class are there.... bicycles, and crunches meet plie and pulses at the barre.
