I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend & mother's day! I want to thank everyone who came out on saturday to help begin the club beautification process! We did a lot of painting, installed the outer railings, & moved a ton (or two) of sand! However there is still a lot to do! We will need everyone who is able to come out this weekend & give a couple hours if we are going to have the club ready for opening day on the following weekend. Additionally, if anyone is able to come down during the week & do some painting or light carpentry we could use the help. We still have two isles of lockers that need to be painted as well as several of the exterior walls. It would great to get this done while the weather is cooperating! Please let me know if you or someone in the household is available to work on weekdays & i'll coordinate w/ pete to get you set up.

We are excited for the start of the new sailing year! We are also going to hold our annual parent-child green fleet on saturday july 13th. So parents get ready!!! Sailors will again be joining the swim team on the annual rocky mountain creek trip in july. As usual, we welcome a limited number of non-members to sail w/ the program – this is an excellent way to introduce potential members to the club, & to find a partner for your sailor contemplating a double handed boat! If you are interested please share the materials w/ your potential guest. The boat check & opening barbecue are june 23rd, & please watch your email for announcements on program registration.

Only a few short months until opening day at rocky point! And while it may be a little chilly & the boats are under shrink-wrap, that doesn't mean we can’t get out on the water. The kayaking “ frost-biters” group will be starting up mid-march & is open to all adults. A closed kayak is recommended, & because of the low water temperatures you must be dressed appropriately (I.E., dry-suit or other waterproof gear & life jackets are required). We will meet at rocky on sundays at noon, & will be accompanied by a safety boat. Post-kayaking refreshments are provided.
